How To Extend The Life Of Your Fruits And Vegetables

One of my favorite thing about this time of year is the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers. I love visiting the local farm or farmers markets and stocking up on our favorite fresh fruits and vegetables. I think I eat more fruits and vegetables this time of year then I do the rest of the seasons.

The downside to stocking up on your favorite fresh produce is that you have to eat them right away or risk having them spoil in the fridge.

I’m sure it happens to most everyone – you stock your fridge full of fresh produce only to have to toss half of it away because it goes bad. Not only is that a waste of perfectly good food, it’s also a waste of money.

A few weeks ago I was sent a product that is supposed to help keep fruits and vegetable fresher for a longer amount of time in your fridge. It’s called FRIDGE FRESH.

FRIDGE FRESH is a small device (no taller than a can of soup) that helps to keep foods fresher for 2-3 times longer than normal.

FRIDGE FRESH works through the use of activated oxygen and helps to eliminate the pollutants in your fridge’s air, as well as neutralize bacteria and mold.  As a result it helps to
prevent premature aging of fruits, vegetables and even meats in your fridge. It even works on foods that you keep in the drawers inside your refrigerator.  FRIDGE FRESH also improves the smell inside of your fridge. It helps your fridge to smell clean and fresh.

FRIDGE FRESH extends the life and enhances the nutritional benefits of the food stored in your fridge so you end up wasting less food (and money!) on fruits and veggies this summer.

FRIDGE FRESH is super easy to set up. Simply pop in four “D” size batteries, set it on the top shelf in your fridge, and that’s it. The batteries will last for about 4-6 months. There is nothing to clean, no filters to purchase – nothing extra.

I received a FRIDGE FRESH to review. I’m rather surprised that it was so easy to set up and that there is nothing extra to purchase (filters…).  In hindsight, I should have recorded how long foods normally stay fresh in the fridge before using my FRIDGE FRESH unit and after using the FRIDGE FRESH unit. I wish I had done that to see just how much longer foods last.

I did notice that the fridge was free of any smells within a day of using FRIDGE FRESH. I always keep my fridge clean but sometimes things in the fridge can cause odors (like leftovers). I honestly didn’t pick up any smells from the fridge after placing the FRIDGE FRESH unit into it.

As far as whether or not foods lasted longer I think it was “hit or miss.” Some foods did seem to stay fresh (edible) a bit longer than usual, but others didn’t seem to last any longer. I don’t know if it has to do with the food or if there is some other reason behind it. For example,  peaches seemed to stay fresher longer but our asparagus didn’t last long at all. Is it because peaches are a hearty fruit? I don’t know. The grapes we had lasted a bit longer, but I didn’t notice much difference with the carrots.

I’m going to have to test this out a little longer, maybe removing it from the fridge and recording how long things stay fresh in the fridge then replace the FRIDGE FRESH with a new
batch of food and see if there is a difference.  If you would like to learn more about FRIDGE FRESH please visit You can also find the brand on social media. All of the links are found on the bottom of their website.

FRIDGE FRESH would like to give a lucky reader their own FRIDGE FRESH to try out. Thank you FRIDGE FRESH!
